Three Services. All Documented.
Pendulia offers a defined set of mechanical watch services. Each begins with assessment. Each ends with a written record. The customer sees all findings before committing to any work.
← Back to HomepageThe Pendulia Service Method
Every Pendulia service begins at the same point: a written account of what the movement shows before the watchmaker applies any correction. The timing machine reading, the visual condition of the train, the state of the case seal — all are recorded. This baseline is the customer's document, issued at the end of the diagnosis stage whether or not further work is elected.
Services are then carried out in a defined sequence. Disassembly is complete. Cleaning is ultrasonic. Lubrication follows calibre-specific data. Regulation is verified by instrument in five positions. The output is compared against the pre-service baseline. The comparison appears in the service record.
The method is not novel. It is how competent bench work has always been done. What Pendulia adds is the written record that allows the customer to see what the method produced.
Typical Durations
Report issued on completion. No bench queue delay.
Subject to parts availability. Customer notified of any variation.
Dependent on specialist schedule. Timeline confirmed before work begins.
Bench Diagnosis & Estimate
A bench-only inspection that produces a written diagnosis and a tiered estimate for any work the customer chooses to proceed with. Includes case-back removal, movement inspection, basic timing on a witschi machine, and a photographed condition note. The customer receives the report whether or not they proceed with further work, and any inspection fee is credited against subsequent service.
What Is Included
- Case-back removal and movement examination
- Electronic timing measurement on witschi machine
- Photographed condition note
- Tiered written estimate (three work paths)
- Full RM 750 credited against subsequent service
Process Steps
- 01Watch intake — counter examination, condition note started
- 02Case-back removal — movement exposed and photographed
- 03Witschi timing measurement — rate deviation recorded
- 04Written report compiled with tiered cost estimate
- 05Report issued to customer — customer decides on next step
Suited for
Any owner who wants an informed, documented account of their watch's current condition before deciding whether to proceed with service. Appropriate as a starting point for all work enquiries.
Suited for
Owners of automatic three-hand watches whose movements show timing deviation, feel sluggish, or are due for scheduled service. Complications (chronograph, annual calendar, etc.) fall outside this scope and are quoted individually.
Service for Automatic Three-Hand Movements
A complete bench service for automatic three-hand calibres without complications. Includes disassembly of the going train and automatic winding bridge, ultrasonic cleaning, fresh lubrication, replacement of common wear items, regulation in five positions, and a static pressure check on the case. The customer receives a service report covering timing rates and any parts replaced.
What Is Included
- Full disassembly: going train and winding bridge
- Ultrasonic cleaning of all movement components
- Lubrication to calibre specification
- Replacement of standard wear items
- Five-position regulation to COSC-adjacent standards
- Static pressure check on reassembled case
- Written service report: parts replaced and timing rates
Process Steps
- 01Pre-service timing measurement recorded
- 02Full disassembly — each part laid to tray in sequence
- 03Ultrasonic cleaning and rinse cycles
- 04Lubrication by position and calibre data
- 05Reassembly and five-position regulation
- 06Static pressure check — result recorded
- 07Service report issued; watch returned to customer
Restoration of Damaged Dials
A conservation-minded approach to dials with paint loss, lacquer crazing, or printing wear. The first stage is always a written report describing what is original and what has aged, with a clear recommendation between leaving the dial as-is, stabilising it with reversible conservation work, or carrying out a full restoration. The customer chooses the approach. Restoration work, if elected, is carried out off-site by a specialist with whom the workshop has a long-standing relationship.
What Is Included
- Written condition report distinguishing original from aged
- Three-path recommendation: leave / stabilise / restore
- Customer selects the approach
- Reversible conservation work available as mid-path option
- Full restoration by named off-site specialist
- Revised quote if scope narrowed to stabilisation only
Process Steps
- 01Dial removed and examined under magnification
- 02Written report compiled: condition, recommendation, pricing
- 03Customer reviews report and selects approach
- 04If restoration elected: dial dispatched to specialist
- 05Specialist work carried out; timeline confirmed in writing
- 06Dial returned to Pendulia; final inspection and remounting
Note on Pricing
The RM 4,280 applies to the full restoration path. If the customer selects stabilisation only, a revised quote reflecting actual scope is issued. Electing to leave the dial as-is incurs no additional charge beyond the initial diagnosis.
Choosing the Right Service
Each service has a distinct scope. This matrix shows what is and is not included at each level to help customers identify the appropriate starting point.

Technical Protocols Across All Services
Secure Handling
Each watch is tagged at intake with a unique reference. No watch leaves the workshop without a matching collection record signed by the customer.
Pre- and Post-Service Measurement
Timing rates are taken before and after every service. The comparison is the demonstrable result of the work.
Scope Change Protocol
Any finding that changes the cost or scope of an active job triggers a customer contact before work continues. No additions proceed without approval.
Reversibility Where Applicable
Where conservation work is carried out on dials, reversible materials are used wherever the specialist determines this is viable without compromising the result.
Customer Data Handling
Contact data is retained for the duration of the service engagement and for legal record-keeping periods. It is not used for marketing or shared with third parties.
Parts Sourcing Transparency
Where wear items are replaced, the source and specification of the replacement part are noted in the service record. No substitutions are made without customer awareness.
Which Service Fits Your Watch?
